PIZZA CRUST
Makes
2 Thick Crusts
2 Tb yeast
2/3 cup warm water
2 tsp sugar
Sprinkle yeast and sugar over warm water.
Let stand about 10 minutes.
2 cups cold water
3 Tb olive oil
2 Tb sugar
2 cloves garlic minced
1 tsp salt
1 Tb Italian seasoning
6 cups flour
In large bowl mix cold water, oil, sugar, garlic, salt,
italian seasoning and one cup of flour. Beat until well mixed; add yeast mixture. Add flour one cup at a time
until a soft dough forms. Knead on counter until a soft springy dough forms (not dry or stiff). Let rise in a
greased bowl covered for 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 450. Prebake 5-8 minutes. Bake pizza until
crust is brown on edges and sounds hollow when tapped.
Melt 2 Tb butter & 1/2 tsp garlic salt.
Spoon on edges of crust after taken out of oven.
APPLE OATMEAL MUFFINS
1 medium apple,
cored & finely diced
1 egg
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup oats
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup white
flour
1/4 cup honey
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup raisins - optional
Mix oats, flours, baking powder, cinnamon and salt together. Add egg, honey and apples to oat mixture.
(and raisins if using) Mix together until well blended. Pour into greased muffin pan, with or without
papers, about 1/2 full. Bake @ 350 for 20-25 minutes.
